Video Round Up: Nov. 1 - Nov. 30, 2018

All good things come to an end - The greatest regular video feature competitive wiffleball has known - Palisades WBL’s ‘This Week in Wiffleball’ - sadly comes to an end with episode 67. In the final episode, the 2018 post-season is recapped.

Exhibition Game from Kyoto - In JWA exhibition action, the Kyoto Wiffleball Club takes on members of the Kyoto University Baseball club. Keep an on the second pitcher for the Kyoto Wiffleball Club who combines good stuff with even better location.

NWLA Tournament Champions in Pool Play - The NWLA Tournament Champion WILL Waves are working their way through condensed game edits of all their 2018 tournament games and are up to their third and final pool play game. Against the ISWB Southsiders, the Waves sent 3rd/4th starter Jake Davey to the carpet while the Southsiders countered with Aiden Palmer in a game that turned into a walk heavy, high scoring affair.

Wiffleball Tigers Debut - The Wiffleball Tigers - based in the Kantō region of Japan (which includes the greater Tokyo metro area) - played their first formal game as a team on November 18th. In the above clip of a practice session, Kei Igarashi uses four screwballs to pick up a looking strike out.

Grand Slam - This grand slam from Tony Liepa (JAL) went on quite the journey going from hugging the ground off the bat, rising just out of the reach of the pitcher, looking like a no doubter as it continues to rise, and getting knocked down in a jet stream to just clear the home run line.

Making Plays - An offensive minded league full of athletic players and a camera (or three) constantly aimed at the action is the perfect recipe for a “Top Plays” highlight reel. All ten plays on this highlight reel are true feats of athleticism and are captured at all the right angles.

Hoffman at the Texas - Blake Hoffman (ERL) went 1-0 at the Fast Plastic Texas Open in October. Here are some self-edited highlights of that performance.

Walking into the Postseason - Facing tough southpaw Trevor Goforth and needing a win to make it the JAL XVIII post-season, the Bambinos got what they needed thanks to a fifth inning walk off walk with one out in the fifth. Its not the sexiest way to win a game, but with a trip to the playoffs on the line the Bambinos will gladly take it.

Walk off Home Run at the FWILL Tournament - In the Wiff is Life League’s annual medium pitch fall tournament, Rob Licht takes Chris Sarno deep to give his team an early pool play win. The Beavers and EHP matched up four times throughout the tournament splitting the games at two apiece.
