Video Round Up: December 2018
The 2018 WSEM season wrapped up on August 11th with the Best of 3 championship series pitting regular season champions the Aces against the Islanders. The series lived up to its championship billing with two closely contested games. The Aces took game one behind an excellent performance from their ace Scott Kujawa. In Game 2, the Islanders went to their best arm - Stephen Farkas - in an attempt to stave off elimination in a game that was ultimately decided in extra innings.
Some Christmas wiffleball from SPW in Louisiana. Ryker Holloway gets the start for Team 1 opposite of Andrew Broussard for Team 2. This high scoring game ends on (unfortunately, off camera) a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the seventh.
Eight minutes of highlights - including some cool drone footage - from the 2018 Mequon Wiffleball League in Wisconsin.
Highlights from the finals of the Wiff is Life League fall tournament (medium pitch) from Black Friday. EHP (Chris Sarno x2, Gino Joseph) defeat WILL regulars the Beavers by winning back-to-back games after coming out of the loser’s bracket.
The JAL XVIII season wrapped on December 22nd with the underdogs capturing their first JAL title after going 14 seasons without one. Lefty Trevor Gothorf took the ball for the underdogs opposite the Bambino’s Colton Titus. As always in JAL, this game was contested under “one and done” (one pitch per batter) rules.
A new old clip - posted a week ago, this one minute long home movie is from a Cedar Park, TX tournament from November, 2001. Notice the clanging of the aluminum Black Magic bat at the beginning of the clip and the hole strike zone, both of which were en vogue at the time.
Some solid action from a one-on-one backyard game (location and participants unknown).
