Chandler Phillips
WICKED ACES (WSEM)
MICHIGAN
2021 was far from Chandler’s best or most memorable season, in part because it was confined entirely to WSEM league play for the first time in many years. For the first time since 2012, the WSEM Dads did not have Phillips with them at the NWLA Tournament, as work commitments took him away from Wiffle®Ball for the final three months of the Wiffle®Ball calendar. Chandler was once again one of WSEM’s top performing players. Phillips registered the third best batting average and second-best slugging percentage in the league and recorded a league leading 1.58 ERA (in 19 innings pitched). He helped lead the Wicked Aces to the regular season title, with the Shockers coming up just a little bit short of the WSEM title, losing to the Shockers in the championship series. Chandler’s status for 2022 is a bit up in the air. As his 2020 and (abbreviated) 2021 performance clearly showed, Chandler still has plenty of Wiffle®Ball left in the tank and hopefully we will see him on the field again sooner rather than later.
